As the User Experience Lead on the project, I worked closely with project leaders and developers through the design process to ensure usability and design quality. I was responsible for conducting user research (including interviews, contextual inquiries, focus groups, and questionnaires) and usability testing activities for the project. I was also responsible for frequent rounds of pilot testing that required the design and execution of user research – e.g. planning and managing usability activities, determining appropriate methodologies, collecting data, summarizing findings, and reporting results to stakeholders. My work also involved translating research findings into design recommendations and building portions of the member-facing systems using front-end code.

User Experience Design Intern

As part of the UX and Product Technology team, I conducted user research using surveys and interviews for over 250 live communities and created 6 personas that span more than 120,000 users. I also used the data to create goal based community personas that would help in making better design decisions. I then used the above behavioral data to analyze and create mockups and workflows for several member and employee facing systems and an iPhone application.

As a web developer and content manager for the Division of Student Affairs, I helped createand maintain more than 15 university websites using the Drupal CMS. The work spanned thedesktop and mobile platforms, with a consistent user interface for every website. I also workedas a photographer for several university organizations and helped design banners and logos.




My background is in computer science and front-end engineering. Followed that up with a masters degree in information specializing in human-computer interaction. Acquired knowledge and experience in visual design, branding, voice interfaces and motion design through side projects.
